We have also are interested in breeding work on Primula, primroses, as well as Phlox and Arisaema. This section of our website is to introduce gardeners to these plants, to show how they can be grown and used in the garden, and to show off some of the best new plants introduced by The Primrose Path in the last few years.

We are giving general background information on the origin and cultivation of these groups of plants. We have also profiled individual named varieties of each group:

     Heuchera 'Frosted Violet,' 'Harmonic Convergence,' 'Hearts on Fire,' 'Jade Gloss,' 'Midight Burgundy,' 'Petite Pearl Fairy,' 'Petite Marbled Burgundy,' 'Purple Mountain Majesty,' 'Raspberry Ice,' 'Rose Mirrors,' 'Royal Velvet,' 'Shenandoah Mountain,' 'Silver Light,' 'Silver Lode,' and 'Silver Scrolls';
     Heucherella 'Heart of Darkness' and 'Quicksilver';
     Tiarella 'Butterfly Wings,' 'Elizabeth Oliver,' 'Pink Brushes,' 'Pink Pearls,' and 'Running Tiger';
     Primula Julian hybrids and species of the Vernales group.

The profiles talk a little about the background of these varieties, show how they look through the year, and give some suggestions about how they can be used in your garden.

A second set of pages is in the form of articles about garden topics, especially those of interest to gardeners in climates generally similar to ours.
